Description

The administrative assistant provides front-office support, coordinates scheduling and appointments, assists leadership, and ensures smooth day-to-day operations. When the primary administrative assistant is out, this role steps in to fully cover their responsibilities, maintaining continuity across departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Serves as a first point of contact for visitors, callers, and community members; provides clear and professional communication.
• Manage calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings for staff.
• Assist with internal communications, announcements, and distribution of station information.
• Handle incoming inquiries from the public, including story tips, viewer questions, and community requests.
• Coordinate with reporters, producers, and technical staff to support daily broadcast needs.
• Maintain and track office supplies and breakroom supplies
• Provide full coverage for the primary administrative assistant during absences, including expanded scheduling, front-desk duties, and administrative coordination.
• Assist with special projects, events, and station initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in administrative support, front-desk operations, or customer-facing roles.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with the public, staff, and external partners.
• Proficiency with scheduling tools, email platforms, and basic office software.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working independently and stepping into expanded responsibilities when needed.
• Experience in media, broadcasting, or a newsroom environment is a plus but not required.

NON-UNION PART-TIME HOURLY

Compensation:

$15 to $15.50 per hour - commensurate with applicant's experience and skill level
