KONE (pronounced KO-NAY, with the accent on the first syllable) gets its name from the Finnish word for machine. The company was founded as an electrical repair shop in Finland in 1910. Today, KONE provides its customers with industry-leading elevators and escalators as well as innovative solutions for their maintenance and modernization. KONE also provides maintenance of automatic building doors. KONE employs about 32,500 people in 800 locations worldwide.
